Alum Adopt a Counselor Program!

I'm happy to announce an Alum Adopt a Counselor Program! This is an easier yet fun way to ensure that staff morale remains high at CJL this summer. Please check out the guidelines below and email Shailey Kile - skkile@charter.net - if you would like to participate!

--Alums that sign-up will be paired with a counselor for the summer

--pairings will begin with first year counselors and move up from there. If there are only enough for first year counselors then the program will stop there.

--The minimum for the summer expected from an alum is the following:
-2 letters
-1 care package including a magazine and $5 Walmart gift card (has to be Walmart as that's all there is!)

--Pairings will be assigned prior to Reunion weekend as alums that attend reunion are encouraged to make an effort to meet their counselor.

CJL reunion - June 6-8!

Joanne Bryan is hosting CJL reunion the weekend of June 6-8! Please make plans now to attend.

The theme this summer will be "All Camp Day." Friday night will start friendly competition with new, abridged versions of your favorite ACD activities. The ACD theme will continue on Saturday morning, while you rotate between all the usual classes, with events like canoeing, archery, wood chopping, and string burning... you'll even have the chance to make a perfect piece of toast over the fire! Saturday night will be a kid-friendly "County Fair," with the evening ending with singing and baby boats (on the soft rocks-- give it a chance-- it's beautiful-- you'll like it!).

Activities will be appropriate for kids AND fun for you and your friends/spouses/partners.

REUNION THIS SUMMER IS THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 6th-8th. Hope to see you all there! Go to the web site to sign up!

Staffing Update - please help!

We are two weeks away from pre-camp and still need the following staff:

Unit Counselor: 2 or 3 for 1st and 2nd sessions
Nurse: 4th session
Cooks: 2 all summer (we believe we have one at least to fill these positions, but no signed contract yet).
Pool Director: all summer (must be 21)
Horseback Director: all summer (must be 21)

Please put your ear to the ground and see if you know anyone who would like to come work at camp for the summer. An application can be downloaded from the CJL site .

CJL is opening its doors for history tours!

The walking history tours are on Saturday, May 10, from 10AM to 4PM.

Your tour guides will be alumnae of the camp, who will tell you stories about camp life in the “early days” and of their own fond memories.

If you have a day free and feel like a drive, please come on up! If you'd like to volunteer please email cjlalum@gmail.com.
