Website Overhaul!

It's been a long time coming, but CJL has stepped it up and done a major overhaul on our website! Take a few minutes and check it out, then pass it along to friends, family, and others who might be interested in sending girls to camp!

CJL History Tour!

The Annual CJL Open House & History Tour is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16th from 10am to 3pm!

If you would like to volunteer to help out email cjlalum@gmail.com. If you would like to just come up for a visit on the mountain, that's great too!

Over the course of this year, some CJL Alum volunteers are going to try and clean up the alum database, and we want to make sure you all are a part of it, and that we have the correct information!

Parent-Daughter Weekend 2010 A Hit!

Parent-Daughter Weekend 2010 was a huge success! Thanks to the alumna and staff who came to help out for the weekend, and to all the parents and prospective campers for giving us a reason to play at camp for a weekend before summer officially starts! We had a full house, with 19 tables in the dining hall, and even got to go play in the (very cold!) swimming hole on Saturday afternoon!

We hope all who came enjoyed the weekend, and that we'll get many new campers this summer from the weekend.

In other news, we still need a nurse for a week during the summer, someone to work in the trading post for a week, horseback assistants, and a ropes course director! If anyone knows of any ladies who might be interested in these positions, please have them contact the office at info@cjl.org.

Camp Fair This Weekend!

Good afternoon, all!

There's a camp fair this weekend at Perimeter Mall in Atlanta, GA. The fair is on Saturday, March 20th from 11am until 4pm. Representatives from CJL will be there promoting Camp and trying to recruit new campers. Feel free to stop by the mall and say hi--we'd love to see you! Bring your friends who have camper-aged daughters and help get the word out about Camp!

Parent-Daughter Weekend!

CJL's annual Parent-Daughter Weekend is coming up in just a few short weeks! This year's event will be held the weekend of April 30 - May 2. Girls age five and up are welcome to attend with a parent--or both parents if you're bringing two girls.

During the weekend, you'll get a chance to sleep in a tent, eat great camp food, meet some of the summer staff, and check out some of our fun activities like archery, crafts, canoeing, campfires, and the climbing wall! If the weather cooperates, we'll even check out the swimming hole on Saturday afternoon! This is a great weekend to get comfortable with Camp and see if it's the right place for your little camper.

Snow at Camp!

Brian, our caretaker, sent out an e-mail with some photos from Camp today. We got about 4 inches of snow!!

Camp Fairs this weekend!

This weekend, Saturday February 20th and Sunday February 21st CJL will be represented at two different camp fairs! If you're in the Birmingham area, come on out and see Nancy Brim, Peggy Holbrook, and Shailey Kile in Birmingham on the 20th. Or, if you're in the Atlanta area, come by Town Center mall in Kennesaw on Sunday the 21st from 1pm to 4pm and say hi to Allison Laney and Julie Saunders!

It's Camp Fair Season!

Hi, CJL alumnae! As spring approaches, so does camp fair season. This past Saturday Atlanta Parent Magazine held their first of three annual camp fairs. Recruiter Allison Laney was there, along with alumns Florrie (Corley) Johnson, Anne (Switzer) Money, Caroline Morgan, and Amanda Dean and our fancy new recruiting banner. A big thanks to you for helping out, ladies!

There are two more Atlanta-area camp fairs this season. The first is Sunday, February 21st at Town Centre Mall from 1pm to 4pm, and the second is Saturday, March 20th at Perimeter Mall from 11am to 4pm.
